"The group breathwork session was unexpectedly intense for me. It was amazing how, through breathing, I catapulted myself into the depths of my body and my being. At first, my rational side rebelled and told me, "Stop, stop this stuff. If you continue, it'll hurt, you'll break." I felt intense tension, pain, tremors. It all came out with voices, with tapping feet, with breathing, with tears. And then, once the storm was over, there it was, the essential, the real me: luminous, strong, and vulnerable. Home. Thank you, Camilla, for guiding this wonder, for creating a safe space where one can rediscover herself."

What is Spiritus?

drop down

Spiritus is a type of conscious connected breathwork - a type of breathwork that has no pauses between inhale and exhale, and not breath holds, with continuous, deeper breathing.

It uses breathing, sound, and movement to activate the sympathetic nervous system in order to process stored emotions, integrate exiled parts of ourselves, and complete interrupted patterns that got stuck during traumatic events and intense stress states, with the aim to bring the body to equilibrium and facilitate healing and transformation.

Can You Tell Me More?

drop down

Spiritus Breathwork is a profound inner journey that uses the power of connected breathing to access altered states of consciousness. This practice supports healing and integration across your nervous system, body, and emotions, creating space to remember your true, whole self. As you breathe deeply and continuously, you sync with your body’s natural rhythm and tap into its innate healing wisdom.

Our bodies hold memories, emotions, and trauma that the mind often forgets. Through conscious breath, we give ourselves permission to release these trapped energies, allowing what no longer serves us to dissolve and flow away. This release creates spaciousness and freedom from within.Spiritus is a holistic system combining breath, sound, and movement to help free heavy, stuck energy and foster liberation and harmony inside.

During your session, you’ll also receive energetic healing and gentle bodywork to support your body’s natural shifts, guiding you toward inner balance and well-being.

How Do I Know If This Is For Me?

drop down

This Spiritus session is a good fit if you’re seeking:

  • A deeper connection with yourself and a desire to awaken your inner potential
  • A stronger sense of self-love, harmony, and vibrant energy
  • Expansion of the heart and emotional openness
  • Release of old emotional baggage, trauma, and patterns that no longer serve you
  • Increased feelings of fulfillment, vitality, and joy
  • Reconnection with your innate wisdom
  • Effective stress reduction and relaxation
  • Support for physiological healing—remember, up to 70% of toxins leave the body through the lungs
  • A natural boost to your immune system and overall well-being
  • Greater alignment with your life purpose and an increase in positive abundance
  • A deeper connection to life’s flow
  • Openness to connecting with your higher self

If these resonate with you, Spiritus Breathwork may be a powerful and supportive tool on your journey.

What Can I Expect in a Spiritus Breathwork Session?

drop down

During a Spiritus session, a wide range of sensations and emotions may arise. You might experience feelings like sadness, grief, joy, anger, bliss, or gratitude. Physically, it’s common to notice changes in body temperature, spontaneous movements such as shaking or contractions, and sensations like tingling, vibrations, or energy flowing through your body.

One specific reaction called tetany — where your hands (often called “T-Rex claws”) and sometimes feet or jaw may involuntarily contract — can occur. This is usually due to a temporary imbalance of CO2 and O2 caused by over-exhaling.

Many participants also describe entering altered or transcendental states, sometimes seeing vivid colors, shapes, or symbolic imagery similar to DMT experiences.

Is There a Specific Way to Breathe During Spiritus?

drop down

In Spiritus Breathwork, there are two main breathing styles:

Nasal Breathing: Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
Open Mouth Breathing: Both inhale and exhale are through an open mouth.

In both approaches, the breath is directed first into the belly to fully expand, then gently rises to the chest. The jaw stays relaxed, softly forming an “Ah” sound, and the shoulders remain loose and relaxed. Nasal breathing tends to create a gentler, slower buildup, while open mouth breathing usually leads to a quicker energetic activation. Depending on your unique needs and body, one style may feel more natural or effective than the other. In all breath cycles, there are no pauses between inhale and exhale — the breath flows continuously and naturally, guided by your body’s sensations, without force or strain. We will practice this together before every session.

How Long Does a Session Last?

drop down

A typical Spiritus Breathwork session lasts about 60 minutes. Before we begin, we’ll spend 30 minutes talking about this practice, discussing your intention, and practicing the breathing technique together. After the breathwork, there’s an additional 15 minutes for journaling and gently returning to everyday awareness. In total, please allow approximately 1.5 to 2 hours for the full session experience.

What Does a Spiritus Session Look Like?

drop down

A Spiritus Breathwork session unfolds in three main phases:

1. Opening Phase: We begin by tuning into your breath and body sensations. This starting period can last from a few seconds to several minutes, as you drop deeper into your body.

2. Activation Phase: As the breath deepens, your mind’s protective ego may surface with doubts like “this isn’t working” or “this feels unsafe.” Recognizing this “protector” helps you stay curious and focused on the breath and bodily sensations. During this phase, strong emotions, memories, and energy may rise, sometimes causing your body to shake or move — releasing stored survival energy to promote healing and integration.

3. Restoration Phase: Finally, we slow down with calm, nasal breathing to rest and recover. This phase helps you feel safe, relaxed, and allows the insights and shifts from the session to settle. Afterward, journaling, quiet reflection, and hydration are encouraged to support integration.
